It’s Hard to Imagine, but at one time Reba was banned from the family kitchen.

"They didn't want me in there - I was too messy," she laughs. After the dinner dishes were done, Reba or "Dude", we like to call her, would tip-toe past her napping mother and grandmother to perform her baking experiments. When her Grandmother ventured back into the kitchen to begin the next meal's preparation, she would see the dishes left in Dude's wake. "My God what happened in here?" Those early experiments paved the way for Dude to discover how she would bring her love of baking to friends and family.

Baby Steps and Leaps of Faith

Baby steps and leaps of faith brought Dude to where she is today. She moved from Alabama to Charleston, Missouri in 19XX, and later moved to a Springfield where she first listened to her friend and began baking banana bread at home. Within a few years her friends and family were clamoring for more as Dude tried new twists on old bread favorites like Zucchini, Poppyseed, Blueberry, and Pumpkin Spice.

Reba's story is one of happiness and sharing her love of people and bread. "Don't think about it too much – just do it," says Reba about starting a business. "It doesn't matter how old you are. If you can breathe and move – you can do it."

From Natural Sources to Your Table After all these years Reba's motto of "Make good bread how you wish it would taste" has been her road map to success and is our guiding principal here at Reba's Bake Shop. We do what we do, how we do it because we genuinely care about serving really good, quality food. Here at Reba's Bake Shop, we take much pride in using natural ingredients whenever possible. The more natural the ingredients the better chance you will feel good about eating your bread!
